Each year, one or more cities across Europe are chosen as European Capitals of Culture, celebrating their artistic and cultural contributions. The title rotates between countries, meaning each nation hosts the event roughly every
13 to 15 years.
France last held the title in 2013 with Marseille-Provence, and is once again in the spotlight for 2028. Among the candidate cities is Nice.
As part of this cultural momentum, I developed a graphic and visual identity concept to support Nice’s candidacy. I focused on what gives the city it’s strong cultural presence in Europe, from cinema, art, and music, to Mediterranean legends and the Monaco Grand Prix.
The result is a custom alphabet, with each letter inspired by key figures and moments tied to the region, a playful and bold tribute to the richness of Nice’s creative legacy.
